Ever since he took his first deer at age 8, Bill Richter was hooked on hunting and the outdoor lifestyle. He has lived numerous adventures, many of which are impossible today. Bill recalls the abundance of game in the wilderness of Alaska when it truly was the last frontier. He talks of the legendary longbow archer, Fred Bear who was everything his reputation proclaimed and more. Bill reminisces about learning to become a guide and bush pilot in Alaska and his mentor, President of the Alaskan Guide Association, Kenny Oldham, telling him "Everything I tell you I'm only saying once and it could save your life, so pay attention."
Bill speaks of the Amazon, and how uncharted and vast the jungle was. He tells of coming upon native tribes, friendly and hostile, that had never seen a white man before and the many ways a man could meet his end down there; from the tiniest of organisms in the water to the creatures that stalked the trees and waters to the cannabalistic tribes of the deep jungle.
Bill has spent time living among the Inuit in Alaska as well as other native tribes of North and South America. He has profound knowledge of and deep respect for the natural world.
